Kevin Welborn has served as youth minister since 2003.  He is a dedicated leader who leads by example.  A gifted teacher and preacher, Kevin is also used by other church groups to help in programs such as D-Now (Discipleship Now).  

Kevin, a lifelong resident of Mount Pleasant, has attended South Jefferson Baptist Church his entire life.

Kevin trusted Christ as Lord and Savior when he was 18 and eight months later surrendered to God's call to ministry during youth camp in Missouri at Camp Windermere.  He received his bachelor's degree from East Texas Baptist University.  Upon graduation in 2003, Kevin was added to South Jefferson's staff as Youth Minister.  Kevin married his wife, Cara, in 2004.  Recently, they became the parents of a precious daughter named Bonnie, born in February of 2010.
